Mia Milardo

Mia Milardo is a Vancouver-based Canadian animator and illustrator. She studied 2D + Experimental Animation at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, with special interests in stop motion and experimental methods.She enjoys a mixed-media approach to art, always experimenting with intriguing materials to create handmade and tactile aesthetics. Mia’s student film Fruiting Bodies has been shown at film festivals worldwide including the Ottawa International Animation Festival, and she has since worked as a freelance animator for projects including the feature documentary The Chef & the Daruma and the stop motion short film Ang Merkado. Mia is now co-directing an animated short film alongside collaborator Cameron Kletke, with support from the BC Arts Council.
